Sue Finlayson

Code of Ethics and Practice

I abide by the Ethical Guidelines for Counsellors issued by the British Association for Counsellors & Psychotherapists (BACP). A copy is available on request. Should I break these Guidelines you have the right and duty to make a formal complaint to BACP.

The BACP Guidelines stipulate that all practising counsellors should receive supervision. I receive individual supervision monthly where my cases and my approach are discussed. Surnames of clients are not used and my supervisor and I both respect and maintain strict confidentiality.

The confidential nature of the counselling relationship is fully recognised and I will discuss this fully with you. If you have any queries about confidentiality, please ask me about it at any time.
